“Maxima Roma” has announced the signing of center Miro Bilan on a two-year contract.
The 37-year-old former “Prometey” player is one of the first key figures in the new project led by club president Pol Matiasich, who plans to submit an application for participation in the European NBA league, despite the presence of a team in Rome led by Luka Dončić and Donnie Nelson with similar ambitions.
Bilan has previously played in Italy for “Dinamo Sassari” and “Brescia.” In the most recent national championship season, he appeared in 37 games, averaging 14.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists over 28.2 minutes per game.
“Maxima Roma” has also appointed Matteo Cotelli as the new head coach. Cotelli signed a three-year contract and is part of the club’s long-term vision. Since 2021, he has been a member of the coaching staff at “Brescia,” where he won the Italian Cup in 2023. The 2025/26 season marked his first experience as a head coach.
