Forward Trendon Watford has signed a one-year contract worth $2.9 million with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Watford became a free agent after the Philadelphia 76ers declined the team option on the second year of his contract. Over his NBA career, the forward has played 270 games for the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers. In the 2025/26 season, Watford averaged 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 16 minutes per game.
European clubs from the EuroLeague, including Olympiacos, Valencia, and Baskonia, showed interest in Watford. However, the player waited for an NBA offer before making his decision.
