Ukrainian national team player Illya Tyrtyshnyk is set to continue his career in Italy. The 28-year-old defender has signed with Esperia Olympia from Cagliari, as confirmed by the club’s press service.
During the 2023/24 season, Illya was the top scorer in the league while playing for Viola Reggio Calabria, averaging 22.3 points per game. In the previous season, he helped Basket Academy Catanzaro reach the playoffs, posting averages of 19.4 points and an efficiency rating of 21.2 per match.
The Italian club introduced the Ukrainian as one of the most productive players in Serie B. Esperia Olympia competes in the Serie B Interregionale for the 2026/27 season, which is the fourth tier of Italian basketball. The club is registered in the B Interregionale Maschile 2026/2027 championship (Sardinia region), within the North/West Conference.
Tyrtyshnyk’s season will kick off on September 26–27, with Esperia playing their opening match away against Novipiù Monferrato.
