Manchester United extended their struggles in the new season with a 3-2 defeat to Brighton in the English League Cup, despite taking a 2-0 lead at their home ground, Old Trafford.

In the Premier League, after four rounds, the Red Devils have accumulated four points and currently sit 13th in the standings.

However, despite the disappointing start to the 2026/27 campaign, Michael Carrick is not facing the threat of dismissal as the club’s head coach, according to reports from BBC.

“At this moment, there is no reason to believe that Manchester United’s management is losing faith in Carrick,” the agency stated.
