Fernando Alonso Poised for Fourth Stint with Alpine in Formula 1
Fernando Alonso, currently the oldest driver in Formula 1, is reportedly considering leaving his current team Aston Martin to return to Alpine next season, according to Auto Sport Web.
Negotiations are underway, and with the arrival of new title sponsor Gucci, the French outfit is prepared to offer the Spanish driver a lucrative contract.
It has also been reported that Alpine advisor Flavio Briatore has recommended Franco Colapinto seek a new team, as he is expected to be the one to leave following Alonso’s arrival.
To recall, Alonso has raced for Alpine on three separate occasions: from 2003 to 2006, then 2008 to 2009, and most recently in 2021 to 2022, when the team competed under the Renault name.
