According to BBC Sport, Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk is ready to return to official matches for Chelsea. The player has been sidelined since December 2024 after testing positive for doping.
On July 31, it was announced that Mudryk’s suspension had been lifted, and on August 3, he rejoined his club’s training camp in Hong Kong. Chelsea’s next friendly match is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, against Juventus.
Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso commented, “Yes, he can play. It might be too soon for him to play the full 90 minutes, but he can definitely be included in the squad. He’s already training with us, so that means he can play.
He trained yesterday, arriving straight from the airport to the hotel. So, for me, yesterday was more about feelings, more about emotions, about reconnecting with my players and assessing their physical condition.”
The Chelsea vs. Juventus match will kick off on August 5 at 11:30 UTC.
