Andriy Lunin, the Ukrainian goalkeeper for Real Madrid, provided an assist during a friendly match against Deportivo by throwing the ball directly to Brahim Diaz, who then scored the winning goal. However, Lunin downplayed the moment, saying there was nothing heroic about it.
“After corners, when you catch the ball, you always try to restart play quickly. In the end, I didn’t realize Brahim was that fast. It was a good match with a great atmosphere and a beautiful stadium—everything was very nice. Most importantly, this game helps us prepare for La Liga,” Lunin told MadridismoSiempre.
He also shared his thoughts on working with the new coach:
“We’re working hard, a lot, and with quality. The new coach brings new feelings, so I hope we have a good year. Training under José Mourinho is very intense and demanding. But we really like it, we genuinely enjoy it.”
