Andy Robertson, captain of Scotland national football team, has spoken about his team’s ambitions ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the “dream” of facing Brazil national football team on the global stage.
“It’s important in moments like this to remember where you came from, the journey you’ve taken, and how hard you’ve worked to reach these moments. I love my journey. I love the path I’ve taken. A lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifice. But the reward has been worth every minute.
We always want to create our own history. We respect the history of the Scotland national team and those who came before us, but it’s on us to write our own story. Past results against Brazil won’t affect this game.
We know how difficult it will be. Playing against Brazil is a dream for every player, and the World Cup makes that possible. We’re always ready for competition and hopefully we can give them a good challenge.
We know no Scotland team has ever been eliminated in the group stage. It’s a realistic goal for us. We know we have a tough group, but we also believe that on our day we are a good team.
If we get out of the group, we will make history again. If we can become the first Scotland team to reach the knockout stage, that should be our target,” Robertson said.
