Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker has praised head coach Carlo Ancelotti for helping revitalize the national team in the year leading up to the World Cup after several seasons marked by disappointment and underachievement.
“Since Ancelotti arrived, the atmosphere has completely changed. He has a commanding presence and brings a sense of calm, creating an environment focused on the work at hand, free from controversy and other distractions.
He is a true winner, and you can really see it. I think it’s visible in his expression, and the players notice it as well. This is a man who has won everything in football, yet he is here with the Brazil national team, full of joy and enthusiasm,” Alisson said.
The Brazilian goalkeeper will be competing in his third World Cup after appearing in the 2018 and 2022 editions of the tournament.
“It would be an honor for me to join the list of great names in the history of the Brazil national team. It is a privilege to participate in and compete at another World Cup.
Being considered a favorite guarantees nothing. It does not guarantee that a team will become world champion. Sometimes it can even create additional pressure and greater responsibility, and we know that it is a huge responsibility,” the 33-year-old goalkeeper added.
Brazil will begin their World Cup campaign against Morocco on Saturday, June 13. Six days later they will face Haiti before concluding their Group C schedule against Scotland on June 24.
