Croatia’s head coach Zlatko Dalić reflected on the significance of his team’s 1-0 victory over Panama. This marked Croatia’s first win at the 2026 World Cup following their 2-4 defeat to England in the opening round.
“It was a tough and hard-fought match against a dangerous opponent. We didn’t achieve much in the first half, but our performance improved significantly in the second. Securing three points keeps us in the competition. There were challenging moments, and we needed this win to boost our morale,” Dalić commented.
After two group stage matches, Croatia sits third in Group L, trailing England and Ghana.
