FIFA Restores Team Access to England Coach Tuchel
England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel won a dispute with FIFA, achieving the relocation of photographers further away from the bench during the playing of national anthems.
Before the victorious 4-2 match against Croatia, a wall of photographers completely blocked the coach’s view of the field, preventing him from seeing his players. For Tuchel, this was his debut at the World Cup, and this emotional moment was spoiled. According to him, he was standing in front of a crowd of 50 people and could not see a single player.
The problem arose due to the features of the stadium in Dallas. The field had to be raised by 1.2 meters, which narrowed the side zones. FIFA compromised and changed the rules: now photographers will be gathered closer to the center of the field. The new approach has already been tested at the match between the Czech Republic and South Africa in Atlanta.
