Portuguese winger Afonso Moreira is leaving Lyon just a year after his transfer. The 21-year-old player will continue his career at German club Bayer. Lyon officially confirmed the transfer, revealing all the financial details of the deal: “Afonso Moreira is moving to Bayer Leverkusen for up to 33.6 million euros, including 4.1 million euros in bonuses, as well as 10% of any possible future net profit.”
This sale will bring a solid income to the French club ahead of the financial regulator’s review. Last season, the Portuguese scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 37 matches. Lyon president Michel Kang warmly bid farewell to the player, noting his dedication to the club and his bright contribution to the past season of team reconstruction.
