Germany puzzled by Nagelsmann’s limited communication during World Cup
Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly maintained minimal communication with his players outside of training sessions during the 2026 World Cup, according to the Daily Mail citing Bild.
The players have voiced concerns about being left in the dark ahead of matches. The squad was taken aback when Nagelsmann announced at a press conference that he would make only minor changes to the lineup for Germany’s World Cup 2026 clash against Ecuador, which ended in a 1-2 defeat.
In the final training session before the match, Nagelsmann experimented with an attacking trio featuring Florian Wirtz, Leroy Sané, and Maximilian Bayer. However, in the starting lineup, he opted to field Jamal Musiala in place of Bayer. After the game, the coach explained to the players that his intention was to give everyone an opportunity within the team.
Looking ahead, Germany will face Paraguay in the round of 16. This match is scheduled for June 29, with kickoff set for 20:30 UTC.
