Girona Coach Kike Alvarez Emphasizes Commitment, Comments on Tsygankov’s Status
Girona head coach Kike Alvarez has made it clear that he does not want players who lack the desire to represent the club. Among those looking to leave Girona are two Ukrainians: Viktor Tsyhankov and Vladyslav Vanat.
“I want players who are committed to being here and focused solely on Girona. Maybe that’s not the case for some at the moment, but in a few weeks they might gel if they end up staying. All players are good, but they truly excel when they find harmony,” emphasized Kike.
Regarding the possibility of using Tsyhankov, the coach kept his options open.
“After evaluating all factors, I will have to decide which players to use based on how I see them,” he stated.
The coach also admitted that starting the season with an open transfer window is far from ideal for Girona.
“It feels like Groundhog Day, the same thing every year. This situation isn’t perfect for clubs or coaches, but we’ll try to handle it in the best way possible. We just have to accept it,” said Girona’s manager.
