Harry Kane Reflects on England’s Draw and Challenges at World Cup Group Stage
England captain Harry Kane reflected on the recent group stage match in which his team dropped points. The striker highlighted the team’s dominant possession but admitted that the opponent proved extremely difficult to break down. Despite missing out on a win, Kane urged calm and encouraged optimism when looking at the standings.
“It was one of those games where it’s tough to unlock the defense. We controlled the ball and created chances towards the end of each half when the opposition tired. I had a great opportunity, and Nico O’Riley hit the crossbar. I was tightly marked by Partey, so space was limited. Panama awaits us next. The tournament is really split into two phases: the group stage and the knockout rounds. We’re nearly through the first phase and want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible,” Kane said during an interview on BBC Radio 5.
