According to L’Equipe, citing British media sources, FIFA President Gianni Infantino is working to strengthen his position amid a significant crisis. The head of the international federation is facing intense pressure following the failure of his plan to attract private investors for the World Cup.
In an effort to maintain his influence and secure support, Infantino has taken drastic steps. He proposed granting Morocco the right to host the 2030 World Cup final at the future Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, which will have a capacity of 115,000, instead of Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu. Additionally, the official has been actively encouraging national federations to issue public statements backing him.
It is worth recalling that the 2030 World Cup will be the first in football history to take place across three continents and six countries.
