Inter part ways with veterans Sommer, Acerbi, and Darmian
Inter Milan has officially announced the departure of three squad members: Yann Sommer, Francesco Acerbi, and Matteo Darmian. The club has decided that these veterans are no longer part of their future plans.
Yann Sommer, 37, joined Inter in the summer of 2023 and served as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper over the past three seasons. He made 100 Serie A appearances and featured in 139 matches across all competitions during his tenure.
The former Swiss international collected two Serie A titles, an Italian Cup, an Italian Super Cup, and reached the final of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League while playing at San Siro.
Francesco Acerbi, 38, has been with Inter for a year longer than Sommer, arriving in 2022. The central defender played 101 Serie A games and totaled 148 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Today, Inter released a comprehensive statement expressing their gratitude to both players for their contributions to the team.
