Israeli forward Said Abu Farhi was sent off for a gesture simulating a gunshot during the UEFA Nations League clash against Austria. The match ultimately ended in a 3-1 defeat for Israel.
Abu Farhi received a red card for his celebration after scoring against Austria. Already on a yellow card, he added drama by grabbing the corner flag and mimicking a shooting gesture.
The 20-year-old headed home an equalizer in the 55th minute, leveling the score after Austria had taken the lead through a penalty converted by Romano Schmid.
Austria reclaimed the lead in the 90th minute when Philipp Mwene scored following a cross from Paul Wanner. Sasa Kalajdzic sealed the victory with a close-range finish deep into stoppage time.
Meanwhile, the stands saw banners demanding an end to genocide, adding intensity to the atmosphere.
