Jurgen Klopp Confirms Talks with German Football Association over National Team Role
Following Julian Nagelsmann’s departure as head coach of the German national team, the federation swiftly turned its attention to finding a successor. The leading candidate for the role is former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp. The 59-year-old coach has officially confirmed ongoing communications with the German football authorities but urged patience in the process.
“Everything happened very quickly. Julian left, the federation is searching for a replacement and discussing it with me. There will need to be thorough discussions because the current issues are not solely Nagelsmann’s responsibility. Julian is an outstanding coach, and he will prove that many times over. We have to wait and see how the negotiations unfold. I also need to have a conversation with my employer Oliver Mintzlaff, who is open to dialogue,” Klopp told German broadcaster MagentaTV.
