The German national team coach faced criticism following their exit in the Round of 16 at the World Cup against Paraguay. Julian Nagelsmann took charge of the squad on September 22, 2023, leading them through the European Championship 2024 and the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Under Nagelsmann’s management, Germany played 37 matches, achieving 23 wins, 7 draws, and 7 losses.
Nagelsmann himself had expressed his intention to continue in the role. However, the German Football Association decided to end their collaboration with him.
Jürgen Klopp is considered the leading candidate to replace Julian Nagelsmann.
