Juventus Targets Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario After Martinez Deal Fails
Juventus is preparing an offer for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Juventus has revisited the option of signing Vicario and has made significant progress in negotiations with Tottenham over the past 24 hours.
It emerged yesterday evening that Juventus’ pursuit of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has fallen through. The Turin club has already reached an agreement with Vicario himself and now plans to submit a loan proposal to Tottenham for the 29-year-old Italian, including an option to buy.
Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that his first-choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season will be Antonín Kinský, who signed a new contract earlier in August. Additionally, the Spurs have brought in Martin Dúbravka as the backup goalkeeper, meaning Vicario is surplus to requirements at the London club. Consequently, any discussions regarding a contract with a Ukrainian goalkeeper for Juventus—whether Andriy Lunin or Anatoliy Trubin—are now considered irrelevant.
