Shakhtar Donetsk forward Lassina Traoré scored for his national team during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match. He successfully converted a penalty against Benin.

Burkina Faso hosted the match and took the lead but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

In the 20th minute, Traoré executed a flawless penalty kick. Despite the goalkeeper guessing the direction, Benin could not prevent the goal.

Meanwhile, in the second Group match, Mauritania defeated the Central African Republic 3-1, moving to the top of the group standings.
