Trabzonspor played their opening match of the new Turkish Süper Lig season yesterday, August 15, facing Kasımpaşa away from home.
The visitors included Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi in the starting lineup, who stayed on the pitch for 84 minutes. However, his compatriot Arseniy Batagov was sidelined due to a knee injury.
On the 58th minute, Mohamed Salah, the new marquee signing for Trabzonspor, entered the game. Despite the presence of both Salah and Malinovskyi, neither managed to make a direct impact on the scoreline.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Saviolo put the visitors ahead just before halftime in the 43rd minute, but Benedychak converted a penalty on the 55th minute to rescue a point for Kasımpaşa.
Looking ahead, Trabzonspor may soon welcome another familiar face from Salah‘s Liverpool days, as the club has agreed on the transfer of Darwin Núñez.
