Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has stated that forward Omar Marmoush must decide his own future.
Over the past season and a half at City, Marmoush has started just 22 matches, patiently serving as a backup to Erling Haaland. Maresca recognizes that the 27-year-old Egyptian wants more playing time and has presented him with a choice: either seek a move to another club or continue fighting for a spot in City’s lineup.
“The answer should be similar to what I said about James Trafford. Players work hard every day, they want to play, and when they don’t, they aren’t happy. Omar hasn’t played much over the last year, so naturally, he wants more minutes on the pitch. That doesn’t mean he won’t get more opportunities here, but it’s up to him to decide whether to leave or keep pushing,” Maresca told Sky Sports.
