Bosnian coach Marino Pušić, known for his tenure at Shakhtar Donetsk, has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi club Al-Ahli, succeeding German Matthias Jaissle who left for Newcastle.
Following his departure from Shakhtar, Pušić took charge of Al-Jazira in the UAE. Now, Saudi Arabia offers him a fresh opportunity. Ambitious Al-Ahli finished third in the Saudi Professional League last season, secured the Saudi Super Cup, and triumphed in the AFC Champions League. Naturally, the new coach faces the challenge of maintaining or surpassing these achievements.
It is worth recalling that before joining Shakhtar, Pušić served as an assistant to Arne Slot at Feyenoord, where he was recognized as the specialist responsible for direct work with players during training sessions.
