Azerbaijani club Qarabağ, which Dynamo faces today in the Conference League, has previously clashed with Ukrainian teams twice. Both encounters proved to be challenging battles.
Back in 2014, during the Europa League group stage, Dnipro suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against Qarabağ. However, they managed to bounce back in the away leg, securing a 2-1 victory thanks to two goals from Nikola Kalinić. That season marked a remarkable run for Dnipro, as they ultimately reached the final of the European competition.
At the same stage, but four years later, Vorskla also faced Qarabağ. The pattern was strikingly similar: a 0-1 loss at home followed by a 1-0 win away, with Vladyslav Kulach scoring the decisive goal. For some reason, Qarabağ seems to perform better on the road against Ukrainian opposition.
