Mbappé’s Injury Woes Raise Concerns Since Real Madrid Move
Another injury to Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s superstar, highlights the concerning pattern of his physical struggles since joining the club.
This week, Real Madrid fans received troubling news as Mbappé sustained an injury during the UEFA Nations League match against Turkey.
The French forward felt discomfort shortly after scoring the winning goal, immediately raising concerns among the French national team staff. The exact severity of Mbappé’s injury has yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the fitness issues he has faced since his transfer to the Madrid side.
According to Mundo Deportivo, this marks Mbappé’s seventh injury since arriving at Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. During this period, he has missed 14 matches due to various injuries. When including three additional games missed at the Club World Cup because of gastroenteritis, the total rises to 17 absences. Despite these setbacks, Mbappé maintains an impressive availability rate of 88.8% for matches.
What is most worrying is the nature of this latest injury. In the game against Turkey, Mbappé injured his left knee—the same joint that troubled him for several months last season. Initially, he tried to continue playing but was eventually forced off the pitch. Following the match, he left the French national team camp and returned to Madrid.
The left knee has been the primary issue since his move to Real Madrid, causing a lengthy absence that spanned the turn of the calendar year and extended into the early months of 2026.
It is worth noting that despite these challenges, Mbappé has been in outstanding form this season, netting eight goals in eight appearances.
