Milan and Chelsea Honor Andriy Shevchenko on His 50th Birthday
Andriy Shevchenko celebrates his 50th birthday today. Widely regarded as the greatest footballer in independent Ukraine, he currently serves as the president of the Ukrainian Association of Football.
His former clubs have honored him on their official channels. AC Milan shared a photo of the Ukrainian striker with the caption: “One of the greatest forwards of all time. Cheers to you, Sheva!” Meanwhile, Chelsea offered a more understated greeting: “Happy birthday, Andriy Shevchenko!”
Shevchenko’s professional playing career spanned from 1992 to 2012, during which he represented Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, and Chelsea in succession. From July 2016 to August 2021, he managed the Ukraine national team, followed by a brief stint at Italian club Genoa from November 2021 to January 2022. After stepping away from active football, he gradually transitioned into football administration.
