Mourinho Reflects on Real Madrid’s Three-Tier Performance in Fiorentina Draw
José Mourinho spoke to the media following his second debut as head coach of Real Madrid. His team drew 2-2 against Fiorentina in a friendly match.
“I liked everything. Madrid showed three different faces: fresh, tired, and very tired. The fresh squad performed very well, and the 2-1 scoreline was too narrow. The first half was of high quality, and we could easily have been leading 3-0 or 4-0,” the Portuguese manager stated.
“In the second half, the game became more physical against a typically Italian team known for their excellent fitness. After that, we saw Moise Kean competing in the penalty area against two 18-year-old players who had a strong match and are developing, but physically they are not yet at the level to handle a player like Moise,” he added.
“Dumfries and Endrick trained for three days and played over 70 minutes. This is a fantastic effort, which in my opinion shows their readiness to give their all,” Mourinho commented on the efforts of Real Madrid’s newcomers.
