A year after signing his contract, Paul Pogba‘s chapter at Monaco is coming to an end. The club extended a hand to the World Cup winner following a lengthy suspension and a series of injuries, but the partnership ultimately failed to deliver.
Three weeks ago, the Monaco management informed the 33-year-old French midfielder of their decision to part ways and are now actively seeking a new club for him before the transfer window closes. Last season, Pogba featured for only 115 minutes, and this summer he played just one half. A fresh injury sustained during training has only reinforced the club’s stance.
“The truth is that the project didn’t work out. The expectations at the start were completely different. Is his departure possible? Yes, absolutely,” commented the club’s CEO, Tiago Scuro.
