Pedro Leitão Brito, known as Bubista, the head coach of the Cape Verde national team, has agreed to take charge of Moroccan club Renaissance Berkane.
He has signed a two-year contract and will step down from his role as the national team manager after six years in charge. Under his leadership, the ‘Blue Sharks’ qualified for the World Cup for the first time in their history and reached the round of 16. He also guided the team to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The negotiations nearly fell through as Bubista wanted to continue managing the national team alongside his new club duties. However, Renaissance Berkane’s management insisted he focus solely on his club responsibilities. Ultimately, both parties reached an agreement, leading to his departure from the national team. This development has been confirmed by several African and Moroccan media outlets, as well as by Fabrizio Romano.
