Stephen Curry, the four-time NBA champion, has signed a new two-year contract with the Golden State Warriors worth $116 million. Notably, this impressive figure is actually below the maximum allowed.
The point guard agreed to a deal $20 million less than the maximum salary, providing the Warriors with greater flexibility in shaping their roster next summer.
Ahead of his 18th NBA season, Curry confirmed his intention to finish his career with the Warriors. The club presented him with several options: a maximum contract, a lower-value agreement, or the possibility to delay his decision until the start of the season or the next offseason.
By extending his contract, both parties have settled any uncertainty about Curry’s future, ensuring he will play at least his 19th season with Golden State, and possibly his 20th.
