Taulant Xhaka, the brother of midfielder Granit Xhaka and a former footballer himself, has spoken out regarding his brother’s exclusion from the Switzerland national team following the falsification of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
“Please never forget one thing: what Granit Xhaka, my brother, has done for Switzerland over all these years. How much heart, passion, and pride he has given to this country and this jersey. And to all journalists: please never forget this either. You have made mistakes in your lives too—we all do. The important thing is not to never make mistakes, but to acknowledge them, understand them, and learn from them. Brother, I am proud of you. Family remains family, in good times and in bad,” Taulant Xhaka wrote on social media.
Granit Xhaka is currently under investigation for falsifying a COVID certificate. He faces up to five years in prison.
