Como has reached an agreement to sign Chelsea defender Trevo Chalobah for a transfer fee of £30 million. The 27-year-old has committed to a long-term contract with Cesc Fàbregas’s side.
Chalobah is a product of Chelsea’s youth system, having spent nearly two decades at the London club since his early academy days.
His departure is part of Chelsea’s efforts to reduce squad size under new head coach Xabi Alonso. The London club has also strengthened its defense by signing 26-year-old Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.
Chelsea still retains nine experienced central defenders, including Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Achaempong, Benoît Badiashile, Aaron Anselmino, Axel Disasi, and Mamadou Sarr.
