Ukrainian midfielder Dmytro Bohdanov will continue his career in the German league after extending his contract with Union Berlin. The 19-year-old player’s new deal has been confirmed by the club, though no specific terms have been disclosed.
Bohdanov, a product of Dynamo Kyiv’s academy, has been playing in Germany since 2022. He initially represented Dynamo Dresden before transferring to Union Berlin in the summer of 2025. Last season, the young Ukrainian made three appearances for Union’s first team in official matches, recording one assist.
“During his first season, he impressed both in the youth academy and with the senior squad,” Union Berlin stated on their official website.
Speaking about his contract renewal, Dmytro Bohdanov said, “I am very happy to extend my contract. From day one at Union, I felt a great deal of trust and was warmly welcomed by the club. This environment is perfect for my continued development as both a player and a person. I want to take full advantage of this opportunity and work hard every day to contribute to the team’s success.”
It is worth noting that this summer, Bohdanov played a key role for Ukraine’s U-19 national team, reaching the semifinals of the European Championship. He featured in all four matches of the tournament and scored one goal.
