Netherlands head coach Xavi stole the spotlight with his debut, overshadowing Jürgen Klopp‘s first match in charge of Germany.

In their recent UEFA Nations League encounter, the Netherlands produced an expected goals (xG) figure of 3.12.

This was the first time since June 2019 that their xG against a top-30 FIFA-ranked national team surpassed the 3.0 mark.

“I was left with very positive impressions. Ultimately, we deserved more. We created chances and applied pressure. Unfortunately, we lost a few duels, but we were stronger in the second half,” Xavi commented after the match.
