Zinedine Zidane is considering a surprising change to the France national team lineup for their upcoming UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium. According to L’Équipe, Desire Doué is set to start as the central striker, having come on as a substitute in the recent match against Turkey.
Following Kylian Mbappé‘s injury, Zidane faces the challenge of reshaping the attacking front. The French head coach has confirmed that there will be adjustments to the squad and that Ousmane Dembélé will not be guaranteed a starting spot in every game.
In the game against Turkey, Doué began on the bench but replaced the injured Mbappé in the 59th minute. Now, the Paris Saint-Germain forward is being considered as a candidate to lead the line in Brussels.
If Zidane opts for this setup, France’s attacking trio could feature Michael Olise, Desire Doué, and Bradley Barcola. In this scenario, Doué would spearhead the attack instead of Dembélé.
France kicked off their campaign in Group A1 with a 1-0 victory over Turkey, while Belgium secured a 2-0 win against Italy.
