Real Madrid Reveals Expected Recovery Time for Injured Mbappé
Real Madrid has revealed the details of Kylian Mbappé‘s injury after the star forward was forced off during the UEFA Nations League match where France secured a 1-0 victory over Turkey.
Mbappé scored the only goal in the 54th minute but soon began to limp noticeably due to an apparent injury. This prompted coach Zinedine Zidane to substitute him.
Following the game, the new head coach made a concerning statement about the condition of France’s number ten, sparking fears that the 2026 Ballon d’Or contender might face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Now, Real Madrid has provided an official medical update to clarify the nature of Mbappé’s physical setback.
“After examinations conducted today by Real Madrid’s medical team on our player Kylian Mbappé, he has been diagnosed with hyperextension of the posterior capsule in his left knee,” the club’s statement confirmed.
While the report did not specify an exact timeline for his return, insider Fabrizio Romano noted that the striker’s absence is not expected to be prolonged.
According to sources, Mbappé will miss France’s upcoming matches against Belgium on September 29 and October 5, as well as the October 2 fixture against Italy. The estimated two-week recovery period suggests he could be fit in time for Real Madrid’s domestic clash with Villarreal on October 10.
Although his availability for the later Champions League match against Roma remains uncertain, the primary focus will be on regaining full fitness ahead of the high-profile encounter with Barcelona scheduled for October 25.
