France captain Kylian Mbappé has returned to full team training following a recent illness. The Real Madrid striker missed the first day of the national team camp due to a viral infection but was back to training “as usual” with his teammates on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Mbappé trained separately after feeling unwell. He also missed the open training session for fans and was absent from a lunch with the president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo.
Wednesday saw the forward complete an intense tactical session lasting about 45 minutes on the Michel Platini pitch, located near the France team’s training base.
The squad is set to travel to Istanbul on Thursday before facing Turkey in Kocaeli in the UEFA Nations League. This match will mark Zinedine Zidane‘s debut as head coach of the France national team.
In addition to the game against Turkey, France will play three more UEFA Nations League matches during this first camp under Zidane. On September 28, they will face Belgium away for the second time, followed by home matches against Italy and Belgium at Stade de France on October 2 and 5, respectively.
