Midfielder Luka Modrić of the Croatia national team has extended his own record as the oldest goalscorer in the country’s history.

In the opening match of the UEFA Nations League against Czech Republic, which ended 2-1, the captain broke the deadlock in the 47th minute.

Modrić scored at the age of 41 years and 17 days, surpassing his previous record as the oldest player to find the net for Croatia. His prior oldest goal came in June this year during a friendly against Slovenia, where he scored at 40 years, 8 months, and 29 days old.

Additionally, the goal against the Czechs marked Modrić’s milestone 30th international goal for the Croatia national team.
