Golden State Warriors defender Brandin Podzemski is aiming for a new contract worth around $25 million per year, a figure that exceeds the salary range preferred by the club, according to insider Brett Siegel.
The Warriors are targeting a deal with an annual salary between $15 million and $18 million for Podzemski, but the player’s representatives are pushing for a higher amount, citing his role as a starter and consistent improvement. Golden State is unlikely to negotiate below the $22 million to $24 million range during talks.
Podzemski played in all 82 games during his third NBA season, delivering career-best averages of 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
