Gregg Popovich, the legendary coach of the San Antonio Spurs, has married Mary Bart Budenholzer, the ex-wife of Mike Budenholzer, who served as his longtime assistant, according to TMZ.
Mike Budenholzer was part of the Spurs’ coaching staff from 1996 until 2013, after which he left the club to become head coach of the Atlanta Hawks and later worked with other NBA teams. He and Mary divorced in 2016. Popovich’s first wife, Erin, passed away in 2018 after a long illness.
Reports indicate that Mike Budenholzer has been in a new relationship for some time, and this development will not affect his relationship with the 77-year-old Popovich.
