NBA dunk contest champion turned down 10 EuroLeague offers for a modest Spanish club

Mac McClung, a three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion and guard, has shared the reasons behind his decision to join Spanish club Girona, despite receiving numerous offers from EuroLeague teams.
“I told my agent that chasing the biggest contract wasn’t my priority. That doesn’t matter to me. Over the past two years, I’ve had more than 10 offers from EuroLeague clubs. But my agent and I decided to follow what felt right in my heart.
What really stood out to me were the conversations with head coach Moncho Fernández and general manager Fernando San Emeterio. I thought to myself, this feels like I’m finally coming home,” McClung explained.
