The Los Angeles Lakers have traded center Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards in exchange for guard Jayden Hardy and two second-round draft picks.
Ayton, the first overall pick in the 2018 draft, will earn $8.4 million next season by exercising his player option. Hardy has two years left on his contract, carrying a $6 million salary and a team option for the final season. During the NBA season, Ayton averaged 12.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block per game, while Hardy posted 12.6 points with a 42% three-point shooting accuracy.
Last season, Washington finished as the league’s worst team with a 17-65 record.
