Maccabi Tel Aviv Claims Israeli Super Cup with Win Over Hapoel

Maccabi Tel Aviv claimed the Israeli Super Cup this season by defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv with a score of 101-83.
Both teams were playing their first official match of the season, just seven days before the EuroLeague campaign began. Under the guidance of coach Oded Kattash, Maccabi outplayed their rivals and secured a comfortable victory.
Roman Sorkin led the scoring for Maccabi with 16 points, while Bonzi Colson and Yam Madar each contributed 13 points. Madar also dished out seven assists against his former club. Additionally, Iffe Lundberg and TJ Leaf added 11 points apiece.
On the other side, Vasilije Micić topped Hapoel’s scoring with 17 points, followed by Den Oturu with 13 and Hadim Carrington with 11.
Maccabi took control early in the game and dominated the third quarter with a 17-2 run, extending their lead to a commanding 75-48. They maintained this advantage through to the final buzzer.
Both teams will kick off their EuroLeague seasons on September 24. Maccabi will face ASVEL on the road, while Hapoel will host Bayern Munich.
