Stephen Curry, the point guard for the Golden State Warriors, has dismissed the idea of entering the NBA free agency market next summer and does not see himself playing for any other team.
“Am I ready to follow in the footsteps of LeBron James? Absolutely not. I’ve always said I want to spend my entire career with Golden State. What we’ve built here, and the chance to go through another season alongside Draymond Green and coach Steve Kerr means a lot to me.
All these contract talks, the whole NBA business from season to season—it’s madness. Things change very quickly. But I know for sure that I want to stay with Golden State and keep fighting for championships. The contract situation will sort itself out,” said the 38-year-old basketball star.
Curry still has one year remaining on his current contract. In the 2026/27 season, he is set to earn $62.5 million. It is expected that Stephen will sign a two-year extension worth $136.7 million before the start of the season.
