Slovenia’s national team will be without defender Luka Dončić and center Jackson Hayes for their August World Cup qualifying matches against Latvia and Montenegro.
Dončić brought nearly the entire Los Angeles Lakers squad to a training camp in Ljubljana from August 20 to 24 but will not participate in the national team matches, nor will his recently naturalized former teammate Jackson Hayes.
Dončić had previously stated he would not play for the national team due to family reasons, expressing a desire to spend more time with his two daughters.
