Golden State Warriors are considering bringing back guard Klay Thompson if he becomes a free agent, according to insider Brett Siegel.

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers have also shown interest in Thompson, but the Dallas Mavericks oppose buying out his contract and insist on a trade instead.

Thompson was selected by the Warriors in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft with the 11th overall pick. He spent 11 seasons in Golden State, winning four championship titles in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.

During the 2024 offseason, Thompson moved to the Mavericks through a sign-and-trade deal, signing a three-year contract worth $50 million with the club.
