Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed unwavering confidence in Vinícius Júnior, despite recent criticism aimed at the Real Madrid forward. The Italian acknowledged that the Brazilian might not currently be at his peak form but remains convinced that he will soon return to his usual high standard.
“Perhaps he is not in the best shape right now, but, for example, he performed very well at the World Cup. A player can never be at 100 percent all the time. Vinícius’s quality is unquestionable. He is a fantastic player, one of the best in the world,” Ancelotti told the Times of India in an interview.
In the near future, Brazil will play three friendly matches in Australia, India, and Singapore. Ancelotti views these games as an opportunity to assess players he is not yet fully familiar with.
“We are working on building a new generation of players. We have a core group who have competed at World Cups. Right now, our focus is on preparing for the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup,” the Italian coach added.
