Artem Dovbyk Chooses Bologna for Club’s Ambition and Coach’s Vision
Ukraine striker Artem Dovbyk has explained his decision to move from Roma to Bologna during this offseason, highlighting the club’s ambitions and the personal influence of new coach Domenico Tedesco as key factors.
Speaking to Bologna’s official channels, Dovbyk revealed that Tedesco’s approach was surprisingly straightforward.
“I chose Bologna thanks to the sporting directors and also the coach Domenico Tedesco. He asked me just one question: Do you want to play for Bologna? I said yes, and then we had a conversation where he explained the project and the club’s ambitions to achieve excellent results this season,” the Ukrainian forward said.
Dovbyk is hopeful for a fresh start at Bologna, a club known for developing forwards. After a difficult period in the capital, the appeal is clear. Bologna has established itself in recent years as a team that consistently improves its attackers, and Dovbyk, formerly the top scorer for Girona and in La Liga, aims to follow that path and regain his best form.
“I know that several forwards who have played here have made significant progress. I will simply try to help the team by scoring as many goals as possible. I am ambitious and eager to play, and I want to get back to my best shape.
My first impressions are that this is a very close-knit team, almost like a family. Everyone fights for each other, and there are players with excellent individual qualities. I have often played against Bologna, and those matches were always tough,” Dovbyk added.
